I’m a filmmaker and programmer based between Glasgow and Montreal. I am currently on the programming teams for Glasgow Short Film Festival, Cinema Politica, and Tënk Canada, and programme occasional screenings for Cinéma Public.

I am especially drawn to films which play around with form in weird and thought provoking ways, and have a particular interest in the crossover between activist film and experimental cinema.

a whole 12ish years chewing gum in real time

2026, 16mm, MiniDV
Work in progress

I hadn’t seen Ryn or the city of Minneapolis in almost 10 years. A lot had changed in that intervening time, and we were both kinda shit scared about what a reunion might bring up for each us. Ahead of our big meet, we wrote down our thoughts and feelings, and this provided fodder for the sort of collage exercise that’s documented in the film. We also made a rickety little shelter and erected it down on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi. At the time it felt symbolic in some sort of loose, odd way.

Lapide

2024, VHS
4 mins 52

‘Lapide’ follows my grandmother as she gives a tour of the local graveyard in the town in northern Italy where she lives. I use the same VHS camcorder with which my own early childhood was meticulously documented.

Sagittarius

2024, VHS
7 mins 32

Something sinister seems to be churning underneath the appearance of things, expanding and contracting like a big, dark, cosmic accordion. Clouds gather, and rain quickly follows, inundating everything (including my dreams).

Bellsmyre Caledonia

2022, 16mm & 8mm
5 mins 14

'Bellsmyre Caledonia’ is based on a short piece written for the Workers’ Stories Project by Dumbarton-based housing activist and writer Tommy Lusk, who also stars in the film as an amateur housing sleuth (i.e. himself).

The Sun Up & Down Like a Yo-Yo

2020, 8mm
4 mins 7

In this film, I make use of 8mm footage and still inserts of old family photos from my childhood, and try to explore the lines between myself and my other family members.
