Lapide
2024, VHS
4 mins 52
‘Lapide’ follows my grandmother as she gives a tour of the local graveyard in the town in northern Italy where she lives. I use the same camera with which my own early childhood was meticulously documented, and try to explore the idea of home video aesthetics as an aesthetics of care and of witnessing.

Sagittarius
2024, VHS
7 mins 32
Loosely narrative in form and playing with 'calm-before-the-storm' tropes of cli-fi catastrophe flicks, 'Sagittarius' is about the experience of waiting for an event that might not arrive or which might already be here.

Bellsmyre Caledonia

'Bellsmyre Caledonia’ is a 16mm film about housing, work and leisure. The film is based on a short piece written for the Workers’ Stories Project by Dumbarton-based housing activist and writer Tommy Lusk, who also stars in the film as an amateur housing sleuth (i.e. himself). This film was made with the support of Arika, Living Rent and the Workers’ Stories Project.

My Grandmother Sits in the Garden
2019, VHS
3 mins 26
In 'My Grandmother Sits in the Garden' I try to invite viewers to contemplate on the notions of time, place, and identity, and to consider how the lines between then and now, here and there, and self and other are often (always??) blurred.
